to all the newbies and the oldies(lol)

To all the new people here and the ones that has been on here forever like me,I just want to give some advise. I know I will get alot of people disagreeing with me and I don't want to sound rude because I'm not trying to.My name is Plymouthgirl and I have been on here for about 3 years.I have read all the ups and down we all went through.Believe me I have been where you are all at for I was an addict and relasped many times. I took everthing from norco to hydros to what I could get.I know the ones the are on the pain pills think it is in possisable to quit but it can be done. I know you will feel like you are dying and losing your mind but that all will pass. The first 4 days are the worst. After that thing start to look brighter.Yes you will have some bad days after the first 4 but they are not as bad has the first 4.To me after the 4th day I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.I really started to feel a lot better and seen thing a lot clearer.Yes the sleep thing was bad and so was the RLS.But that will get better to.I could not take the RLS and no sleep so i went to  a doctor and told him my legs bothered me at night and I could not sleep so he gave me a starter pack of requip and 10 sleeping pills. That helped more then you would know.I am not saying to run out and do that but it got me by.So to all just push for the 4th day and everyday after that it will get better. And when you have a bad day just think of how you felt on days 1 through 4 and you might not feel so bad.Just my opinion.Plymouthgirl

Just thought I would post to try to help all the new people here to have faith that it does get better. Just tough out the first 4 days then the light starts to shine.Just want to let them know yes bad day do come after the first 4 days but just to think about the first 4 and they will realize the bad is not that bad. Hey girl !!!  It's a good opinion too !!!   For me day 2,3,4 were the worst,  Day 5 came and I thought, "dang! I'm gonna make it now!!!!!!!!"  It was a good feeling, knowing that I had done this after FIVE years of having opiates everyday!!! Planning my life around them,  counting the pills till the next refill,  just a person I didn't want to be anymore!!  Yes, it doesn't matter,  Prescription or from the street,  Addiction is still addiction and it grabs you by the ya-hoo and doesn't let go!!!
I strongly urge anyone who has the means to talk to their Dr.,  ask for Clonidine and perhaps a few tranzene to help you over the rough days.   It really helps keep you in your skin on days 2,3,4,  .
Take care Plymouthgirl.........  good post

That first 4 days can sure feel like a lifetime. I remember looking at the clock and just trying to get the next fifteen minutes over with at a time. I would read these forums over and over and over just to make it through the hours. Day 5 was a godsend. I woke up and felt so much better, it was amazing. There are still tough days to be sure after day 4, but nothing even close.

It is easy to forget just how bad we felt those first four days after we have been clean for a few weeks and that is why everyday, without fail, I come back here to read and remember where I was and why I never want to return there.

Thnaks for the post PG!
