vicodin use

is it safe to take 1 Vicodin 5/500 per day for more than 8 months? can it hurt you? I have been taking it for chronic migraines and join pain for like 6 plus months.

Yes it is safe.  My DH has been on 1-2 a day since 2005.  He has had to have no increases, nor has he had any issues.  The only thing to pay attention to is that you do not take a ton of tylenol too, as tylenol in high doses can affect the liver

If your not becoming physically dependent on them, there is no real health risk associated that I can think of, however I'm not a doctor.  It's the equivalent of taking one Tylenol every day.  I'm not completely certain what other effects hydrocodone has on the body over long term use, but you start to get into real trouble when it becomes a physical dependency issue.  Would be best to go the route of a non-narcotic medication for migraines, but easier said than done, many don't work.
