So true, at first I was taking 3 vicodins per day for about 6 months, then I noticed how much better I felt on them so figured what would be 4 per day, then 5, etc. Then I was changed to Vicroprofin, my favorites. I can eat at least 15 per day if I want. I am not proud of myself. I now have a pain dr who when I told him I felt terrible without my pills, informed me I was going through w/d, then wrote a script fo 90 percs and 60 oxys 20mg.
I figured if the dr knows I have w/d and gave me more meds it is okay. I have had two SI joint injections which have not worked, he now wants to so a procedure where he burns off the nerve endings. I do not want the procedure. I am even willling to give up my scripts to keep from having it. I know I am hooked, but I am in so much pain I can not stand it. I do not sleep without muscle relaxers and pain meds or I am up after 1-2 hrs sleep. My pharmacist even said to me, yes you are addicted, but you are in so much pain that I would have to take the chance and continue the pills. I would like to take the Sub, but what I read here scares me to death. I thought it would be a painless way to get off. Cold turkey will not work, I have tried. Is there ever a good reason to stay on the pills?
not everyone gets addicted...worry about it is a sign that u may feel like u might...most on 10 mg of hydro are not worried...and perhaps u r just super cautios whixch u should be...if u find urself abusing or using for feeling good instead of for pain...then take heed...if u can stay at that dose without taking more than prescribed then just get on off when the pain is gone..altho this amount doesnt work well due to tolerence after a while..just keep a check and if u r abusing/and only u know/get off the puppies quick
That is the lowest dosage, I believe.
Do not take more than the prescribed amount, and don't take at all if you don't have to.
I know a lot of people that can discipline themselves to this low intake, but also know a lot that couldn't, and one turned into two, then four, etc.
Best Wishes.
VERY quickly. Vicodin is hydrocodone and very addictive. Be careful.
