As you use Vicodin...you just want more and more.  Eventually if you follow the "norm"...you would find your way to a Dr. for a 'script...use...buy them on the street.. etc., etc.

Your w/D symptoms are not so bad... 20mgs of the opiate a day...and your useage at this point is not that long... and you sound like you are young... all of these issues are factors.

You know you are taking them recreationally... and you already know that the same dose ... day after day... does not produce a high...CATUF said... we stay on them because we are all afraid to come off them... meaning W/D.   It is not a candy coated party for anyone.

I was using them for 5 years.   All in all.. I have the same level of "manageable pain"... as when I was using them.

Don't take these pills lightly... they can and will eventually have a devastating affect on your life....and you will look back at this time remembering.. W/D NOW weren't that bad.

If you stay hydrated and take lots of vitamins.  You will have a rough 2-3 days physically.  Then you will start and emotional roller coaster for a day or two.  Don't hold it in let it out.  Take a ton of showers.   I bought neutragena body oil to stay hydrated and moisturized my face after every shower.  My skin looks Awesome.  I'm sure the vitamins helped too.  Just pamper yourself for a couple of days lay low and stay near the forum so we can help you.  Any moment of weakness or fear.  Post and someone will be here for you.

They are right, hun. You WILL NOT DIE! You may beg for God to take you, but he won't. Your body is gonna put you through a bit of punishment. Grit your teeth and hang in there. You WILL make it through to the other side, the good side. I'm there. And I'm loving every second of it...
You can do a little homework and arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible, that's what I did. Still out of everything I read, (and copied and pasted to my 151 page word document!) did I expect what I was getting in to. It is diiferent for each person. Also, what your poison is depends on your withdrawals. I was a Methadone addict. I'm clean almost a month now. Methadone is supposed to be "the unbeatable" drug. WELL>>>HERE I AM>>>still kicking and clean for life.
You have to WANT it so bad you are willing to take that ride.
We are all here for you every step of the way.

Hi all. Here is my story and hopefully someone can help. I've been taking 4 vicodin 5/500 per day, all at once ever night for 6 months recreationaly. I no longer get "high" from this dispite that I do drink with these as well. This past Thursday night, 8pm I took my last four. It is now Sunday 11pm and withdrawls have not been bad at all other than slight lack of sleep. Dispite reading about people who have really bad withdrawls, it seems that at least for the 48-72hrs give or take "clean" It seems that I can handle the withdrawls without much problem. Has anyone else had this expeirence or am I just one of the lucky ones? Perhaps because I did'nt take them thoughout the whole day, that has something to do with it? Any thoughts would be welcome.

P.S. I just found 3 more "vikes" and took them, now I'm mad at my self.

Withdrawal is ugly... however, it's different for everyone.
Read here ... there is plenty to tell you what to expect... but nothing will match your experience of it.

Vicodin, if that's all your stopping, is really unpleasant at best to w/d from... but IT WILL NOT KILL YOU.

Take Vits... drink lots and lots of water.  Days 2 and 3 stay really close to the Bathroom... and if you can get your hands on a few Librium or Valium...take them to sleep through the worst of it.

Go for it... you'll come out to the other side and have a brand new outlook on everything.

BTW... you guys... after doing a ton of reading about Benzo's Librium is noted to be the BEST for W/D.... it's half life is much longer than Ativan or Xanax...and it's not as difficult to wean from the Librium...Xanax is the KING OF BENZOS, really short half life and if you smoke...it's efficiency in working is 50% less than for a non-smoker.   Just something I've learned and confirmed this past month.  Confirming...meaning asking appropriate people who know answers.   I have been asking a lot of questions lately..... should have done it before taking scripts I knew nothing about.

Oh you poor thing. I know how you are feeling. Most important stay calm and TRY to relax. YOU WILL NOT DIE. Do you know how to take your pulse? If it gets above 120 or you have a seizer or if you start to hallucinate you should DEFINITELY go to the ER. Now you can do this. Yes, it is hard and it sucks so bad. But, you can do it. The trem is not a narcotic although my friend did withdraw from them. Just be sure you are not trading one habit for another. Your right the sleeping will be hard. Also body and leg aches along with possible vomiting, bathroom issues, running nose, sneezing, sweats and chills. This should last about 4 to 6 days. Remember everyday will get alit better. If you need any support keep posting. Everyone here is so helpful and is or was just like yourself. With support, Heather
