when will I feel alive again?

I finally got the energy to post my question. I have never been addicted to anything in my life, until now. I have been on oxycodone for 8 months now for neck injury. I was prescribed 3 a day and i stopped taking them at 10 a day. anyway, I am on day 3, cold turkey ,and feel like I am sooo weak i can barely move my eyeballs. When will I feel like my old self again? Addiction can sneak right up on ya, can't it?

well...I made through my work day. It was brutal! The cravings were so strong. I didn't think I would make it, but, I did, I didn't realize how much I have relied on my little pills. I am in alot of pain right now and all I can think about is that. I can't sleep either. But, I will make it.....another day.. another day clean:)
thanks brenda

thank((((((((((snowflake))))))))))
I appreciate the encouraging words:) It is now day 4 and I am off to work.....somehow.
I do feel better and I went for a short walk yesterday. My eyeballs are feelin pretty good right now. I was going to say normal, but, I am not sure what "normal" is anymore. I do have a sense of humor that has gotten me through some pretty tough times in my life. I can always laugh:)
thanks again and if I make it through the day,"I'll be baaaaaccck"

Vitamin B6 and B12, L-tyrosine and maybe a multivitamin can help with some energy. Try to force youself to get up and move around, if you can go for a short walk or a long one, it really will help you feel better. In my past detoxes Ive found that the vitamins and aminos do help, but I started to use 5hr energy or stacker 6hr power and they really helped with energy. There not bad for you like energy drinks, they are just in tiny bottle about a shot worth of liquid. It has the same b vitamins, l-tyrosine along with some other amino's and vitamins, some caffeine about the same as one cup of coffee. I dont know why more people dont use them during detox because they helped me more than anything to get the energy to get up and walk my jack russell everyday because he has to be walked or he goes crazy, I swear their like having small children. I wouldnt expect your pysical w/d's to last any longer than a week, your energy level may remain down for a while, but the one thing you can do to improve it is excercise. I know most people dont want to hear that, or even think about doing it, but its the best treatment for fatigue. Also if you can find a sauna you can stay in there as long as you can, it really helps get rid of the toxins and opiates left in your body.  You can make your own if you stick a towel under the door and turn the shower on all the way hot, you want to make sure you drink quite a bit of fluids before you go in,but it helps speed the process up. Hope some of this helps, if you want more info feel free to send me a note/message, good luck.

Hello and welcome to the forum.. Addiction sure is a sneaky Bitty you are right there... Day 3 and 4 are usually the worst.. with oxy more like 5 day's.. Then you start feeling the easing of symptoms.. I know it sounds crazy seeing as it is hard to move your eyeballs.. but walking even if only pacing will help.. then increase as time goes by.. force yourself.. it makes the wd process faster and starts to kick in those feel good endorphins.. Lots of hot baths/showers.. read the forum look at journals.. remember this is only temporary.. You are doing great as I pick up on a sense of humor.. attitude is half the battle.. I wish you well.. lesa

I know exactly how you are feeling....what is normal?? What did it ever feel like...i cant rember  how it felt to wake up and not have to pop something....i had to get alot of dentel workl  done and it took about 7 months to get all the work done..and by that time i was HOOKED...that was four years ago. I have seen the effects of  long term use...you DONT want it to happen to you...I have seen a girls liver shgut down on her because of pain med ..it is not pretty....just rember ..this too shall pass. You will be yourself again and years later hopefully you wont even rember what it felt like to be on pain meds. Good luck
