Hey man, you're doing really well, just gotta tough it out a little longer.  Each minute of feeling bad is one less that you'll have to deal with.  A couple more days and you'll be feeling a lot better.

you have gone through the worst , deanoiom... problems with sleep, energy and some muscle pain are the physical symptoms to linger longer ...and sure, the mental battle is tough but keep your spirit high and positive :)... take a hot bath whenever you need it, drink a calming tea and try to stay positive at those hours at night when our minds start playing ...watch a funny comedy :)

It is extremely uncomfortable regardless of what drug the withdrawals spawn from...it is all pretty much the same miserable feeling.  Yesterday was horrible for me with throwing up and anxiety levels through the roof (first time in my life I have experienced anxiety) - the emotional and mental aspects of this are almost debilitating at times.  Keep your head up, you have all this time under your belt and the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer by the minute.
This place is awesome, not only for the support and encouragement, but it provides you with an outlet for your feelings.
You are doing great and you have almost got this.

i never thought it would be this hard or i would feel so ill, in the past i have given up xtc, weed and smoking with no problems but these pills the dr gives you to feel better and you have to go through all this. If only i knew what i was getting into, this substance should be made illigal!!!! I will never take any opium based substances again full stop........................
For my tea today i managed to force down 2 scrabled eggs and a slice of toast. Will my joy of eating return soon??

hang in there it will get better .this is my third withdrawl this year. I m doing this cold turkey I am on day 6 .  I keep going back because I have real pain .  migraines are the worst.  by day 10 you will feel like your old self again .  I need to ask my doctor for less pills, less often. But I do need pills to control real pain.  No more than 10 at a time.  it takes about 3 days to become addicted .  I will never allow myself more than  10 pills per script.  You can do it.

Hi I am on day 12 from codeine withdrawl. I k now exatly what you are going through, but believe me when I say that you just have to be brave and take it one day at a time and eventually you will be ok. Its a nightmare, but I suppose if it were easy we would go back to it over and over again until we end up killing ourselves, so this is the only way it can be. You need to buy some immodium. That will help the stomach cramps and stop the diahhea. The worse part of the second week for me was the lack of sleep. Backpains and lack of sleep seem to be pretty much what most opiate users experience in their second week. Because I am just coming towards the end of the second week I have found today I actually felt ok. Its a process of feeling a little better every day until one day you feel close to normal again. You just have to take it one day at a time.

Yes...it's a drag to be alone going through this. But,now you have the forum and you can post here any time!

I'd say about 10 days in total to feel much better. Everyone's different, though. You could feel better tomorrow. You just never know...always expect to be pleasantly surprised!

Try to sleep now and post back tomorrow...( or later on today in your case).

im just going to try and sleep on it tonight as its nearly 2am. How many days on average does it take for all the pains and sickness to pass.
i am never goin to take an opoid again after this i will be so happy when i feel like me again i hate being ill and being in pain. It doesnt help that i am alone as my gf is at uni and is a plane or boat away!!! :(

Yes, a lot of people experience back pain. Get in a hot bath. It really helps.

It's NOT enjoyable at all!   So, let's hope you never go through this again!

Just hang on. The waves of withdrawal will become less and less now. The worst thing you can do is to take codeine.  You'll just be back to where you began.

5 days is great. Try to get some exercise,it really helps.  Hot baths, several times a day will feel wonderful.  Be sure you're eating and drinking!

Keep posting!
