withdrawal from pain medication

I have been on pain medication for 4 years.I have never taken more then 4 10 mg a day. I am down to 3 5mg a day with little issues I started going down the last 3 months. Now I am afraid to go off all together because of my age and any problems that might occur..If I stop all together now will the withdrawls be as severe as I read about 15 mg a day isn't very much but I am afraid to stop all together I appreciate any suggestions.I know I have an addiction but I never took more then prescribed

Yes you can stop but you will have wds. Depends on you. Yes think of it as being sick. Couple weeks and you will be feeling better. Couple more and really good.

Or you can contine the taper. Keep extending your next dose each week by an hour or whatever. Or just drop the 1/2 and go to 3.  And keep going. Either way. Don't be afraid. You will be better off and much happier when you are done v

I think you will be fine, you can do it.  You will feel ill, and have no energy, perhaps some pain, but this will pass.  Pretend you have caught a virus and baby yourself. I am sure others will have better advice but I just want to offer my encouragement.
