I got tired of being treated like I was a drug addict only after he prescribed since 1995, and also never failed a drug test or whatever. So after giving him my loyal business for 22 yrs. I found a wonderful and, caring dr. Thank you also, for your time checking on me.
Hey are you getting my comments to you that I am posting I do not see them. Thank you so much for your careing.
Thank u so much for ur caring words.my dr group started not perscribing the oxycotin! And had to send all their pain patients.to pain clinic, the pain mgt dr was very arrogent about his knowledge of my pain.(Although I am the one hurting here.)He only wld perscribe opana only and they were simply not what the oxy had done to help my pain..
Thank you for being an actual human being, and comming to my aid. I have found a wonderful nho also is taking me as a new patient and he is getting me into a pain clinic,he was awsome b/c he is. Helping out just to make sure that I will have just enough to lastt until my pain mgt date.
Hey I been on this since 1995, wld the law get a case before 16 yrs later.doesn't make since to me.
did u call your doctor and tell him whats happening
I am very much in pain neck, back, left leg.today hav bad diahria, stomach feels as if someone has taken a screwdriver and twist and twist si tight I can not sleep, eat, anything go from bed to toilet.thanks for caring!!!
WHERE I LIVE U CAN GO TO CERTAIN DOCTORS AND THE WILL WRITE YOU WHAT YOU WANT THEIR VERY SHADY BUT I DONT THINK ANY OF WOULD RISK THAT
maybe the dr got in trouble with the law for more meds than the law allowed? in my state, the dr.s aren't supposed to give high doses for long periods of time unless it is a cancer patient. that is why my dr. is reccomendin a pain clinic for me.
yeh i know ive been talking to her here and there and when she told me what her doctor did i couldnt believe it so ive been checkin on her thru the night ,i just cant believe a doctor would knowingly do something like that but then again
Wow. Unless there's something you haven't told us, this seems extremely unorthadox, cruel, and a little unsafe! I became addicted to oxycontin, having began on endone (5mg oxycodone instant release) 1 per day, and progressed within the space of three years to 6 x 80mg oxycodone, taken not for pain anymore, but because I had developed a tolerance, and an addiction, to which it seemed there was no ceiling dose!! Scary!!! I knew I needed help, and eventually turned myself over to a detox clinic for outpatient treatment. The treatment was delivered with the mantra: SLOWLY DOES IT!! Because it is a drug that can have some shocking effects on the central nervous system, leading to palpitations, even seizures, and not simply 'discomfort' and flu-like symptoms, it was deemed inappropriate to commence a reduction programme without thorough medical supervision and very slow reductions, so that the whole process should take months, not weeks or days. And this was for somebody without your pain issues! When a person has physical problems causing them acute pain the clinic would likely ensure that the pain was controlled by appropriate means before altering any doses of any med, because if not the person could so easily relapse just for pain relief (as opposed to seeking a high!)
My reduction was at 15% per week. It took me three months or so to get down to three x 40mg per day from 6 x 80 mg per day. Unfortunately for me I went home for a visit to see family overseas, and the visit went horribly wrong. I fell out with my stepfather, and went completely off the rails in a major relapse. The next step for me, having undone all my hard work, was methadone. I am now on a high dose of that, which controls any pain issues I had prior to this whole thing, as well as makes taking any for of opiate a pointless exercise, as they do not work at all when on a high dose of methadone.
You might want to consider methadone for pain control, as it tends to be stable regards dosage, no needs for increases as the effect on pain remains constant over time.
What I don't understand is why anybody would even think of changing your medication regime when you seemed to be doing fine for years and years on the same dose!!! An addict will also raise the dose, titrating up and up over time. You were clearly using it for pain control only, which is the purpose it is designed for. What judgemental tw@t has labelled you an addict after 13 years at a stable dose?? I don't understand how that could happen, unless this doctor were just anti-opiates and had a blinkered attitude about treatment with oxycontin. I don't know.
What do you think? How are you doing?
xx
hey coco you doing alright havent heard back, let me know
i was wondering about ya that was a brutal drop he didnt tell you might feel a little sick he just dropped u to that in one day ? how are u doing

you your on oxycotin for 16 years? and they changed the med or did you wanna ween off to try something different?
They refused to even write another script for pain after being on a trial and error of the oxymorphine.after being on oxycotin 4xd@@ 80 mg And endo sd the conversion equivelent wld b 4xd 40 mg oxymorphine, now I am completely cut off without anything to take. I have hernaited c-3,c-4,l-4,l-5,s-1.also degenerative disc, arthritis.
