my friend is pregnant and going to try to quit pain pills cold turkey at home.(lorcet) what can i do to help her with the withdrawal symptoms? what type of foods, over the counter meds, vitamins, etc. can she take to help her with the symptoms?

Please take FLA's and Ga Guy's advice.  Fetal distress sounds very bad.

I agree, quitting ct while pregnant is dangerous. Please, encourage her to seek help. I will both beneficial for her and her baby. Getting through a few uncomfortable days when generally healthy is OK, going through wd's while pregnant is a bad idea.

Look up the thomas recipe. She should be able to take those vitamins while being pregnant. She is smart for quitting and has a wonderful friend in you.

She CANNOT  quit cold turkey while pregnant... She needs to talk to her OB about a taper plan... WD symptoms can cause harm to the baby... the spike in blood pressure for one can cause fetal distress.... She needs to do this with a doc or in a detox... SHE CANNOT GO COLD TURKEY AT HOME
