working out during wds

In the last year I've worked really hard to get my body and pain levels controlled.  I knew that for me to be able to quit the meds I needed to take control and do all the things I could to lower the pain so i wouldn't fall back into using.  So, I went to my chiropractor and acupuncturists on a regular basis and started working out doing HIIT 5 days a week.  I've strengthened m6 muscles around my spine and my core is rock solid and i noticed that I no longer take myoxy/percs for pain any longer.  I take to keep the wds at bay so I'm at the next and final step, quiting this crap.  I'm scared but also relieved.  My question, has anyone been able to keep working out during wds?  I know that this is essential for me to keep my pain in control.  Thanks everybody-  littlegreenghouls

You might feel somewhat weak the first week of wds, but don't get discouraged energy is really challenging when you come off opiates. Since you are already in great shape, that helps a lot,IMHO.  You will be so glad to be rid of the pain meds. Other sites I have been on, yes people continue to work out while in wds. Good luck and keep posting.

I personally couldn't do much during w/d. It is a physical thing like the worst flu ever. But, I also believe it's mind over matter too. When I really did have the flu, I worked and walked and was fine. Funny how chemical w/d is so different. Maybe cause we know it can be fixed right away? Either way, I'm glad you've found a different way to manage your pain and want to stop. Keep posting and you'll get support.
