25 days codeine withdrawal

Ive been taking prescribed Solpadol 30/500 for 20months. Originally, Tramodal for undiagnoised pain, gall stones? Tramadol made me hallucinate so changed 2 Solpadol. The pain passed but left stomach ache & chronic migraines. Told Dr I feel SO ill but apart from headaches, nausea & bad stomach it was hard to explain. Then I felt as if I couldn't get enough air & my ribs ached My neck &shoulders ached. I got palpitations & was in hospital twice but discharged with clean bill of health. Later came anxiety & bouts of depression. My latest symptom is dizziness which is debilitating. Preventative migraine treatments were tried but none really worked for long. I got trouble at work due to sick leave & paid privately 2 see neurologist. Saw him 29th Dec he diagnosed Chronic migraine+Codeine overuse rebound headaches. He said stop the Solpadol now warning that the headaches would get worse b4 they got better & I would hate him for a few wks. He prescribed Napraxon to help. The last 25 days you name the withdrawal & Ive had it but maybe the good hours are now more, sometimes I feel 2 steps forward & 1 step back. Not able to take Napraxon it aggravated my heartbeat so only on paracetomol. I've researched codeine & it appears my present symptoms possibly have stemed from it? Compared to others my dose seems small 2-4 tablets a day, not every day so was I gettin interdose withdrawal? Others seem 2b recoverin faster than me Have I done permanent damage? Is there anything I can do to help detox How long b4 I can realistically expect to feel normal My GP’s seen my symptoms & prescribed the solpadol yet not seen the connection so will have no clue how to help my recovery. Please someone advise me. I just feel so tearful and lost Thanks JosieMarie

I am so proud of you. Yous are almost there. Codeine is a short acting narcotic, so luckily your withdrawals should have been short lived. You soon will feel better and better. And when you feel good again, just remember not to start again. You have so much to live for, so please do not ever use any drugs again. You have an addictive personality. You will get easily addicted quickly again if you try.
The acute, severe symptoms are now over, but the nagging, residual depression, insomnia and malaise can last for as long as two months. Just hang in there for a little longer. Try some multivitamins for a pick-me-up. This too shall pass and you will feel great very soon. Just hang in there, please.   And please stay safe.
