Thank you so very much you have definetly takin a weight off my shoulders! Ur amazing :)
I am so sorry about your loss, I do know how hard it is. Turning to drugs does not solve any problems though as you well understand by now. It affects other aspects of your life and hurts others around you. With all that said, your baby should be fine if you stop taking the hydrocodone and do not take any more. There should be no withdrawal symptoms or problem when it is born. I am not quite sure why your doctor wants family and children's services involved in your case. S/he may think that you will continue (resume) to abuse drugs after the birth or s/he may feel that you are at high risk of postpartum depression. I don't know you personally and I don't know the circumstances of your life so I cannot judge your doctor's decision. If you feel that it is wrong, try talking to him/her and involving your family members (mother or father) who would be able to show that you have good family support and will not be a danger to your baby in any way.
You are already showing that you are willing to make good, healthy decisions for your baby by quitting hydrocodone. If you smoke, I hope you quite that as well because that can lead to miscarriage and low birth weight. Make sure the doctor knows that you are willing and ready to breastfeed the baby because you know that that is the healthiest thing to do. This way your doctor will understand that you will be the best mother this baby can have and he may rethink about getting the social services involved.
Good luck to you and my best wishes for a healthy baby and motherhood.
I will b induced 11 weeks from now.....
