No actually I was on a methadone program for 8 years and jumped off at 60mg 9 days ago. Its been the worst days in my life. I have suffered greatly but it is widely know that methadone has the worst w/d's. That being said, taper how you can, 1 tablet, 1/2 tablet or 3/4 tablet. Finally ask your Dr for Clonidine, Baclofen, Imovane and if willing a benzo. It may work it may not. It will be the hardest thing you'll ever do. I suffer every night each night I suffer so much that its all I can take I feel like Im going to break. But we all deal differently, you'll never know unless you try. Here of you need me.

Did you do that?  How many did you take each day to taper and how long?

A taper is the best and most sane thing you can do. Even if it takes time its is worth not having extreme w/d a lot of people can't make it through. Not because your weak but because that's the nature of the beast. Best of luck.
