Help! codeine addiction!

I'm looking for help with my codeine addiction. I'm struggling to get help and have been passed from pillar to post by different gps key workers and drug counsellors as none are equipped to deal with codeine addiction. Im 28 and have been using for 4 years and take up to 64 nurofen plus (£14) a day. I've tried unsuccessfully to home detox, taper etc many times but fail as its too difficult not only physically but mentally. I become unreasonable and will lose my job and family because of the way the withdrawal makes me behave. I would dearly love to quit my job and go to rehab or Ill eventually lose everything - it's already slowly crumbling: I'm in trouble at work because I'm late all the time trying to get to the pharmacy in the morning then again at lunch, my colleagues know I'm hiding something but cant guess what, all the chemists in London know me its so humiliating with my runny nose at the pharmacy counter every morning when i wake up with withdrawal symptoms and head straight for the next pharmacy and I'm on the verge of eviction for rent arrears and in mounting debt from credit cards and loans in a bid to buy my drugs.

Does anyone know an organisation who provides funding for a place in detox and rehab for codeine users? Most agencies don't help unless its heroine or other hardcore drug but I'm in such a dire situation it might as well be heroine. I don't want to think where this road I'm on will eventually take me but I know its not far off.

Any advise would be gratefully received!!

Sarah

Wow, my point wasn't just about how smart my daughter is. She said that most places only help with heroine addiction which is usually a methadone clinic. However methadone can be used to help with all opiate addictions. I was just trying to reassure her that it can be a safe a very helpful use of treatment. I don't know where she lives so she would have to look for one in her area. She said any advise would be greatly received. I didn't ask for your opinion on my comment.

She's asking of a name of some type of place that can help. Not asking how smart your daughter is.  Her situation needs attention right away.  Sorry I also can't help. Maybe your doctor can help?

My typing is a little off because my phone chose the wrong words. But I was trying to say I have a three and a half year old and that she is very intelligent. At the end of that message, I said when you go through withdraws, your baby feels it too.

I became addicted to pain pills from a prescription that I had for migraines. I was taking up to 30 hydro codones a day. I found out that I was pregnant and was referred to a methadone clinic. I had a daughter the and a half years ago with no health issues at all. She is a veer intelligent the and a half year old. I am not just saying that because she is my daughter but her physician told me that she was advanced for her age. She hit all of her markers at an earlier age than what is expected. I hope this helps. I do have guilt for having a child while on a substance but at the time it was the best thing that I could've done for her and myself. When you go through withdraws your baby ferris it too. Do not quit cold turkey.
