How to help someone

My husband is addicted to pain pills (some prescribed, most bought off the streets), xanax (prescribed), colozipan (prescribed), steroids (bought off the streets), and energy drinks.  As you can tell, up and down constantly.  I have left him because of it.  He now says that he realizes how bad his addiction to pain pills are and wants help.  He said he hasn't had any pain pills in 2 weeks.  But when I went to see him tonight he was so drugged up on colozipan ("he needs them for sleep") that he was slurring his words and barely staying awake.  He doesn't want to stop the steroids either because "he wants to stay young for our daughter and he doesn't even do that much".  If he really does need some type of hormone therapy, he should do it legally and not buy it off the streets.  How can I get him to realize that his addiction is more than just pain pills?  How can I help him find the right avenues for help if he really does want help?  I believe he will stop the pain pills, but not the rest.  I don't understand how Doctors can't realize how bad his addiction is and continue to prescribe.  :(

Wow! I didn't know that combo was lethal! I am very worried about him. He says he is on just hormone steroids, but they are injectible. Is there a difference between just hormone steroids and anabolic ?

It sounds like he needs serious help. What he is doing , is a prescription for disaster. The steroids and benzos can be lethal. If he is over drugged like you are saying, he could easily forget what he has taken and take some more causing an overdose. Before worrying about staying young for his daughter , he should try to stay alive and what he is doing put his life on jeopardy.
