Methadone

My son is 23 and he just told me he has been addicted to oxycontin for over a year. He said he is getting help and is now and has been on the methadone program since Feb..He seems very confident with the treatment and I feel he will be fine. Any way my question is (i know your not suppose to take any one elses medications) my son is going to be flying up north with me on  Friday and we come back on Sunday afternoon, he is not sure if the clinic will give him a to go treatment. i have a friend who has some methadone pills. He takes 80 mg of the liquid methadone, what I can give him is tablets. Would it be the same as the liquid? And should he take the 80 mg all at one time like he does at the clinic. Really not sure what to do. Please give me respone asap I leave town Tues. evening. My son is meeting me on Friday.

Eagle is right... my only concern is that at least theoretically, part of the goal with a methadone program is to get a person away from making those self-treatment decisions, and to instead put himself into the hands of another.  A mg is a mg, but sneaking is also sneaking.
