Off tramadol and in excruciating pain

I've been off my Tramadol prescription and I am in so much pain I can't bear it. I feel totally alone and can do nothing but cry, hurt and kick my legs. I'm emotionally and physically detroyed. I don't have a question-my brain won't work. Just want to know who is going through this, how long until it's better and trying not to kill myself. Help please. I'm terrified.

Hi Dani,
I have a spine defect, have had surgeries and live in chronic pain.
Last year I weaned off morphine and it took me about 6 weeks.  It was terrible and I had to cope day by day.  After that I still needed pain relief and started on Tramadol.  I took it for about 4 months, 2 50mg 3 times a day.  I came off it in November and was sick from withdrawal for about 2 weeks.
So hopefully you will start to feel better in another week?  You are half way there so hang in there.  Be kind to yourself, stay in bed if you can, and drink lots of fluid.  I took supplements to help, Milk Thistle and L-Tyrosine.I also use medical marijuana, it really helped me detox off both drugs.  Esp. when I still needed pain relief.
For the last 6 months I have managed my pain with tylenol 3's and marijuana.  Unfortunately my pain has become intolerable again, so I am going back on Tramadol.
Take care Dani, hopefully your pain levels will decrease soon.

I'm a little confused navagating this site but I want to thank everyone for their support. I was on tramadol for 8 months for a severe back injury. I started out taking it at prescribed but found myself taking 10 50 mil. most days. I tried to get help from my doctor with a wean off plan but she only offered me more tramadol. I'm on my 7th day of none, and I feel broken, awful, and in real serious pain. I've been to the ER twice, where they did very little but helped some. They told me it's just something to ride out. I don't know if I can stand this ride anymore. I feel scared..really scared all the time. Thank you for letting me know I am not alone,

Do you have someone that can be with you through this? Usually the hard part of Tramadol withdrawal is 2 to 3 days and then it should be getting better. Have you called you prescribing physician, he might be able to help you with a muscle relaxant or other medications that might give you some relieve. Try bath tub for your muscles ,that might give you a bit of relieve as well. My prayers are with you ..

Also, let us know how much you were taking and for how long.  The more info you give the more we can help.  We are all scared when we detox but often our fear is worse than the actual withdrawals.  Please post and let us help you.

Hi dani,
Please don't be scared.  Can you post in the substance abuse forum as it is alot more active and people who have gone through this can help you.
How long has it been since your last pill?
I just read this by accident.  I don't normally come into this forum but I practically live in the substance abuse one.
There are so many great people there.
