On/off addiction

Hi, I know this might sound very silly but a couple of years back, I used to be addicted to paracetamol. This was because I would take a couple every hour. This just started with me having pains in various parts of my body. Later I started enjoying the feeling that it gave me. Recently, the same has been happening but this time due to me fasting, I haven't been taking as many as that. I scared that I will start getting addicted paracetamol again and I don't want to. Is there any other medication that I could take rather than taking paracetamol or any other ways that I could try and make sure that I'm not taking too many for what i should be?
Thank you.

People can become psychologically addicted to anything that causes relief from emotional and physical tension even paracetamol. It gives an overall relief of  pain and discomfort and a false sense of well-being.  There is a high risk of liver damage with paracetamol abuse. You should assess the cause of your addiction and not replace this medication with another.
I wish you all the best.

Thank you for the help! I will do my best to try and avoid taking an overdose on painkillers especially because I do not want to get liver damage.
Once again thank you!
