Oxycontin detox

Hello doctor, I was just wondering if you could suggest anything that would make detoxing from about 160-200mg of oxycontin a day even slightly more comfortable?  I've tried cold turkey before and it was just a bit much lol! The RLS and the aches, depression, anxiety, etc. got the upper hand and I was just hoping there was something I could do to make this process a big more bearable. If not, just have to smile an bear it I suppose.

Just curious to know how is your withdrawl going? I saw you left a thread stating you were on your 1st hour without oxycotin/codone.

I hope your hanging in there.

Am at the end of my rope. Have been taking 5 oc80s a day--for 8 months. Am broke, and is either withdraw or die. I have the will to do this, but am so scared. Long/short--I have isolated myself to the point I have no friends and my family has disowned me. Please, someone tell me what to expect and would be grateful for an online friend who is going thru this and understands me for who I am----I will gladly give you support as we are both in the same boat--no judging.
God Bless and prayers for all of us going thru this
This is my first day-first hour

I commend your tenacity for wanting to get off this amount of OxyContin by yourself.  It is a tremendous task. We use very heavy duty medication besides heavy sedation in our clinic to get our patients through their withdrawal symptoms and even though there are all sorts of "magic" formulas out there on the web using things like Valerian, melatonin, magnesium, potassium and such.  Some of the concoctions offered make sense, some do not.
However, let me offer you my thoughts on the matter.  Addiction and drug dependence is a disease and withdrawal has real symptoms that may have real consequences to your physical and psychological well-being.   You have put in a lot of effort and resources into supporting your dependency, now this effort and resolve has to be directed into resolving that disease.  Whatever it takes: individual therapy, detox, NA meetings; the commitment must be made and stuck to.
Good luck to you, my friend and please read my blog, it has some more thoughts on this.
