I have been on suboxone for 3 days first day I had 2 8mg films, second day I had 1 8mg film, and today I had 1 8mg film....well I had surgery 5 weeks ago and one f my incisions got a huge abscess that had to be lanced today and now I need to take my pain medicine before I can change the packing so what I need to know is I took the 8mg suboxone 7 hours ago when can I take my pain medicine without getting sick and also being able to get pain relief??? Thank You for any and all answers!!! :)

The fact that you are on Suboxone should not interfere with you taking other opiates. You may just need more of them to feel the effect. The naloxone in the Suboxone is only there to prevent IV use of that medication.

Suboxone can stay in your system for 2 days, if you take any pain medicine now you will not feel it. Because of the suboxone still being in your system, suboxone has a blocker in it which blocks any opiates that an addict may take so they will not have any effect to it, only effect will be getting seriously nauseous!! I would wait atleast 2 days!! Good luck!
