It is very likely that you have underlying problems with anxiety that you will have to address. Most addicts and alcoholics use drugs and drink because the are self medicating for an underlying psychological issue in their life. It is not an excuse and it is certainly not a reason to restart drinking. It is though a reason to get help. Neither alcohol, nor sedatives such as Xanax are a permanent solution for your issues. They are at most a temporary crutch.
You must turn to a therapist or a good psychiatrist who does talk therapy and not just pills. You need to figure out what causes your anxiety and panic attacks and learn non-pharmaceutical ways of managing your emotions long term.
But for now, what you are experiencing is perfectly normal and the fact that you are taking both Xanax and Zoloft made it easier and safer for you to detox from alcohol. You are doing great and every day will get better and better. I, for one, am very proud of you.  Carry on and good luck to you.
