can a doctor make you start weening off suboxone?

I've been on 24mgs of suboxone a day for about 3 years now and I’m anxious to get off them but I'm just not ready to ween off them yet. I'm worried that just one day my doctor is gonna make me start weening off my suboxone even though I’m not ready and start taking my doses away little by little. can my doctor force me to start weening off the suboxone even though I’m not ready? or does my doctor have to wait till i say I’m ready? i was told by friends and family that the doctor would have to wait till I’m ready is this true? please help me somebody I’m very nervous and worried and having panic attacks over it.

I believe a doctor can do anything he believes is in the best interest and well being of the patient, specially prescribing narcotics. With that said, you should sit with him and discuss your fears…Try to make a plan where you both agree and it causes you less anxiety. Ask him for the reasons he is tapering and maybe it will make sense to you .
Wish you all the best.
