effects pot has on baby if dad smokes it?

My partner smokes everyday, I wouldn't say a lot tho. We have had two miscarriages so far and I'm now 5weeks pregnant again if the baby survives this time can his smoking affect the sperm and health of the baby even tho he doesn't smoke around me?

Sorry lol.

From everything I heard Marijuana probably is not going to effect the issues you are considered about.

My brother's wife was having trouble getting pregnant (fertility issues) and she mentioned to the specialist that her husband smoked "a bit of weed". She was worried it could be a factory.

The doctor, was basically like "There is no real evidence of that, perhaps..."

Brother quit smoking it for several months, didn't help (but they had a baby eventually through IVF).

Look I could be wrong, but Marijuana is an interest of mine, and I have never heard ANYTHING about miscarriage from marijuana, especially in the sort of situation you are describing. I have read a lot of information on Marijuana, in fact I read information on it daily, even knows I haven't had any in over a year.

I will tell you the truth of Marijuana:

* maybe 1 in 12 people become "addicted" to weed, usually people with addictive personalities or emotions they can't deal with. This is probably the biggest problem with pot. These people can get moderately mood and fill a little when they run out from smoking it 24/7.

*  No-one would advocate exposing any baby in pregnancy to ANY drug that is not needed, but seriously if you are going to do ANY drug when pregnant and get your baby exposed- Marijuana is the best choice (no convincing evidence of any harm, though ANY smoke in theory is a bad idea).

* To give you an example of how non-toxic marijuana is,there has never been a credible confirmed overdose. Basically no matter how much you smoke, besides your lungs (from smoking anything), it does not cause any damage to your organs or body.

* Some people worry about the effect of Marijuana but the effects only last a few hours. They do for a short time impair concentration and memory, and as I said occasionally some people abuse it and become moderately "addicted", but extensive scientific literature how failed to demonstrate any permanent effect that Marijuana has on the body or mind (Some studies say otherwise but they are single studies, and you must and understand because of it's illegality there is great motivation to try and prove it is "bad". No study has persisted the test of time which says Marijuana damages any system in the body, its effects are transient (temporary).

* I have read a lot of studies on the matter, and I have read NOTHING that suggests Marijuana could cause the problem you are experiencing. If my mum was going to do a drug before I was born, I'd want her to do Marijuana. If your boyfriend has some problem which is causing the miscarriages, it is most likely genetic. Of course you could have just had a terrible run of luck, occasionally they do occur.

* I would not worry about your boyfriend's Marijuana usage as long as he does not blow it in your face or anything, is responsible, is not smoking it "all the time", and is a good boyfriend and good person. Then you have NOTHING to worry about.

* in particular, Marijuana used in a controlled, ie "not all the time" manner by responsible, normal people- its harmless. Certainly your boyfriend should not be smoking around you if you feel uncomfortable, but as I said, if he is otherwise a responsible, sensible person, there is nothing to worry about.

*** BTW: I send you my biggest hopes and wishes that you will have no problems and not experience the very distressing event that is a miscarriage. I wish you the very best, and hope you soon have in your arms a healthy, beautiful baby ***

Haha of course I don't mean that WTF ? I meant I  don't know anything about drugs is it possible that weed smoking has affected his sperm as such to actually affect the now conceived child's health like mental or physical problems I have miscarried to him a few times and I can't help but think his sperm is not right considering my 2year old to another man is perfectly healthy and I didn't have any problems conceiving or thru the pregnancy I'm afraid the actual sperm that got to my egg might result in an unhealthy child due to all the pot

I am not sure what you are saying. Are you saying if he has sex with you while you are pregnant, can the marijuana get into you via his sperm? And harm the baby? If you are saying that, I don't know how you could possibly come to that conclusion and worry about that, I mean it indicates you do not have a proper understanding of several things. NO, having sex with a marijuana smoker poses ABSOLUTELY ZERO risk to your baby.

If you mean could his sperm have been effected by the marijuana before WHEN you conceived well the answer is it is very unlikely that his using marijuana before you were pregnant will have ANY effect whatsoever on your baby.

Marijuana as a chemical has a very low harm potential. For example it is IMPOSSIBLE to have a fatal overdose from it. While I wouldn't recommend it, evidence even suggests that if you were having pot while pregnant that it almost certainly would not hurt the baby then.

Nobody is advocating using pot while pregnant (the fact that you would be inhaling smokie is probably more of a concern than the active chemicals in the actual marijuana). Marijuana really is not something that poses risk to pregnant women. Cigarettes and alcohol however do pose significant risks.
