I think you want to know more about the drug you are abusing. Percocet is one of the brand names of the drug oxycodone when it is combined with acetaminophen. Oxycodone is semi-synthetic and was created in the mid 20th century to improve upon other opioids such as morphine or codeine.
Although the  chemical composition of oxycodone is almost identical to heroin, oxycodone abuse often lacks the strong taboos and negative reputation of heroin. Heroin’s reputation has been developed over the years of observing the horrific effects on heroin abusers’ lives. Lacking the reputation of heroin, many youths and novice opiate drug users engage in oxycodone abuse without understanding the consequences associated with its abuse, such as a heroin-like addiction potential and the threat of a fatal overdose.
Using Percocets can cause nausea, weakness and slowed breathing.  Percocets can cause impotence, enlarged prostate, and decreased testosterone secretion, thus decrease sex drive. In high doses, or in patients not tolerant to opiates, Percocets can cause shallow breathing, cold or clammy skin, insomnia, lowered blood pressure, heart failure, heart attack and even death. Because it contains acetaminophen,  long-term ingestion of Percocet can do significant damage to the liver. Alcohol consumption may increase severity of liver damage.  Percocets also can cause urine retention leading you to urinating frequently, because of not  completely emptying your bladder. Stomach ulcers are more likely to be associated with NSAIDs like ibuprofen, naproxen contained in Motrin or Advil and such. So if you are also taking those I would suggest that you stay away.
People who use Percocets illicitly and attempt to do a Percocet detoxification, are at a high risk of severe withdrawal symptoms as they tend to use higher than prescribed doses. The symptoms of Percocet withdrawal are the same as for other opiate based painkillers and may include anxiety, nausea, weakness, flu like symptoms, fever, diarrhea, muscle pain or spasm and lowered blood pressure. The severe withdrawal symptoms experienced from doing a self Percocet detox can last for about four to six weeks. The residual depression, insomnia and weakness may persist for months.
I hope this was helpful, good luck and stay well.

There is really no easy way of detoxing from home. I have dealt with hundreds of addicts who have all told me horror stories of doing it by themselves. The are some mythic formulas on the web, but I would only guess that if they worked at home, people would not end up in my clinic with those horror stories.
The basic technique is to space out the pills you take in a consistent manner until you take only one at night, then half at night and then none. You can try asking a physician to prescribe you some Requip for restless legs, Neurontin for overall distress, Clonidine for blood pressure and general anxiety control and maybe get some over the counter Valerian for sleep and sedation.
But, seriously, you must be completely committed to the goal of quitting.  I have written a blog that has rather detailed information about options for detox. If you click on my name and then click on blogs you will see one under that heading.  Take a minute to read it. I hope you will find it helpful.
The main thing of course is the decision that you make and making it a priority in your life, because that will determine what your life will actually be and mean in the end.  I don't want to sound preachy but it is not a decision you make one day, it is a decision you will make every day for the rest of your life.  Good luck to you and take a look at my clinic website for even more info www.mdsdrugdetox.com
