Adrenal fatigue/burnout

Hi, just wondering if anyone has actually been diagnosed with this and if so what did they notice as they got sicker? Did they have trouble convincing their doctors about it? I notice alot of  the time this disease usually has hypothyroidism. Many on the thyroid forum are wondering if they have a.f. too.
I am having HUGE problems and seem to have all the symptoms but no one will test me (yet) for it...sigh.!

I suggest reading the book "adrenal fatigue - the 21st century syndrome" , amazon has excellent reviews , sad truth is doctors still do not recognize adrenal fatigue syndrome because insurance companies will not pay but it is widespread and a.f. can cause fatigue , ibs , allergies , mood disorders , muscle pains , depression , etc

My son's adrenal fatigue (which later turned into fullblown insufficiency) was first diagnosed by a chiropractor\nutritionist who had him do a saliva test and a hair mineral analysis. He recommended nutritional products to rebuild his adrenals, but my son wouldn't take most of them (he was eight years old).

As his condition worsened, he became very fatigued, lost his appetite, had bouts of nausea, felt VERY stressed, developed digestive problems, could not wake up in the morning, and could not fall asleep at night.

I had trouble getting my GP to accept my son's symptoms as serious, since he always seemed OK at doctor visits, except for the exhaustion he felt. When I realized he wasn't growing anymore, the doctor even made excuses for this, "it happens, he'll catch up".

I decided on my own to take my child to an endocrinologist. Thank goodness I did.
He was diagnosed, after an MRI, with pituitary hormone loss, caused by a pituitary cyst\adenoma. Currently he is on thyroxine for hypothyroidism, hydrocortisone for adrenal insufficiency, and nutritional support. He cannot have growth hormone replaced until the cyst is removed.

A good nutritionist will test you for adrenal fatigue. Don't let this go, if you think this is your problem.

Good luck to you,

My generalist thought that I had Horton's Disease but did not confirm his belief with a biopsy test.At the same period my prostate developed into an aggressive cancer and it is still a question for me which disease caused that high CRP.
I was put on Prednisone starting with 70 mg/day tapering of over 2,5 years to zero and had the cancer removed from the prostate followed by radiations resulting into an atrophied prostate. So far no observable symptoms..
Upon terminating the Prednisone, the, initially, thigh muscle pains, developed into knee and foot pain and spreading to all muscles in the body.what I qualify as a full blown arthritis with the problem that nobody seems to recognize it a such, let alone what to do about it.To my layman's opinion the long term Predisone deregulated the complex interaction of hormones of hypophese, hypocamp.pituary gland, thyroid on the surrenales of the kidneys which had been inactivated for 2,5 years.
So I think I have also an adrenalfatique/burnout.
