Can This Happen

I had an ACTH stimulation test on 4/26 and I was really anxious because I hate injections. When the nurse gave me the cosyntropin I was very anxious but I think I calmed down 30 minutes later. My results were as follows:

Baseline 4.4
30 min    20.8
60 min    24.1

I don't have ranges. Is it normal for it to jump up that high without the help of my own adrenaline?

Your baseline was below range at my labs. You then doubled - so it may be that it may be read as normal, but it depends on your doctor, the ranges at your lab etc. So please wait for your doctor to give you a response.

The agent was supposed to make it climb and if the body resists, then the body is not reacting properly to stress.

That is good. I also take a lot of B and D3. If you feel bad, eat something salty and see if that helps. AI is basically that the body is not holding sodium.

Yes, she wants to do another ACTH stimulation test to see if it's better. For some reason I've been able to tolerate the thyroid medication with less problems. I don't know why that is. I've been taking Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin C and D on a much more regular basis, my diet is cleaner and I've been doing yoga. I don't know if this is the reason why I can tolerate it more or not.

Yes... but just because it is normal now does not mean it will stay normal. I hope the doc will stay on top of that.

My doctor said that the test was normal because my numbers increased although the basal cortisol was low. In a person with Addison's would you see the increase that I had 30 and 60 minutes later?
