Stop Med for Salvia Test
I would like to take the saliva test, but for accuracy, want to stop medication before taking the test. Currently, I am taking Florinef twice a day (for tachycardia) and 50 mg DHEA. (FYI -Reasoning for test: I had a very low normal a.m. result in doc's office via blood test and now have pain even from minor stresses such as the phone ringing.)
How many days should I stop this medication before taking the test?

DHEA is for androgen support - it will not change your cortisol reading at all - so you can continue it.
I know that some hyrdrocortisones have a small amount of mineralcorticoids - which is florinef, but that test is aldosterone - so you should be able to stay on the florinef without issue.
Check with your doctor or a pharmacist re the testing to be sure - but there is not an overlap in this case that I know of.
