Thyroid exhaustion - adrenal meds needed

Hi,
I just spoke with my raidologist this morning, and he advised me to get online and find out from others, what type of treatments are provided for thyroid symptoms, but not thyroid medications.  But he said, find out all you can about thyroid symptom treatments pertaining to normal labs.

Such as medications to treat exhaustion ?  Medications for adrenal fatigue.  Which is my major symptom at the moment.

So can anyone advise the type of medications to treat adrenal fatigue, etc... ??

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad. When you say your labs are normal, everything perfect, are you referring to thyroid levels only? Free T3 and T4, and normal TSH? Or does that include other serum and urine tests - cortisol, electrolytes, iron, liver enzymes etc.?
Have they tried using a different lab? Lab error is common.
It sounds like you have severe adrenal hormone imbalance, caused by the thyroid damage. They've tested your adrenal function too I hope - aldosterone and cortisol especially?
I would think the nodule will have to be surgically removed, if it can't be controlled with med. I would want them to try a med. first, no matter what your labs show. That's so awful that they won't try to improve HOW YOU FEEL, just because your labs are in normal range.

Can you give me an idea what exactly you've been eating? Protein, carbs, sugar?  (Not soy, I hope!)

Hi Enzy,
Thanks for reply.  All my information is posted in my journal & tracker.

But basically, I'm exhausted, to the point of being bed ridden for months now, it's like I'm in a coma, but awake, my legs shake bad, when I try to walk.  I have no energy, I am severly weak.

All my blood work returns normal, all of them.  But my thyroid uptake scan showed a warm nodule pressing against my thyroid, causing it to swell, producing hyperthyroid.

I have both hypo/hyper symptoms.

Reason, Endo, PCP, Surgeon, radiologist all confused.  Because all my blood labs are perfect, for the past 2 years.

So the radiologist said, maybe someone online with thyroid disorder with normal labs, or someone exhausted all the time, can share the type of treatment they recieve to help exhaustion, I can discuss with pcp.

Right now, they are clueless ??  All docs saying thyroid meds will not help cause labs are normal.  Thyroid ultrasound/uptake shows abnormalities, obvious symptoms, but perfect labs.

If I don't figure out somethin soon, my thyroid is coming out next month.

I've lost 70 pounds, no exercise, laying in bed constantly and eat up a storm.

This is really crazy !!!!!!!!

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Wait a minute. Back up. A doctor actually TOLD you to go online, and find out from people chatting in a forum what treatment should be given for thyroid and adrenal fatigue?
Oh, wait. It was the radiologist who said this. That makes more sense!  LOL!

I would need a little more info about your condition. What did the radiologist see on the imaging? Was it an MRI or a CT scan? Do you have HYPO or HYPER thyroid symptoms?

Have you had adrenal function tests? There are different hormone replacement meds. depending on which hormones are actually deficient. You may need Fludrocortisone, if your sodium is too low, Hydrocortisone if your cortisol is low, etc.

How do you feel? What are your symptoms? I'm happy to help if I can, I need a little more info though.
