adrenal, hypothyroid, perimenopausal

I am diagnosed as Hypothyroid and just had my Adrenals tested which came back as 23, the levels for all tests were 7,6,6,4.  The 8:00 a.m. test was very low.  I also had my perimenopausal hormone panel done.  The results came back with Estrone being an 18 on the 2nd sample and my progesterone were 19 and 23.  My doctor suggests that I may need to take some form of adrenal rebuilder and possible Progesterone.  I don't know how to interpret the low Adrenal, Estrone, Progesterone with my Hypothyroid.  My T3 and Free T4 are normal but TSH was high so my doctor increased my Armour.  Will this help with the Adrenal, Estrone and Progesterone?  Since I am increasing my Armour Thyroid, should I wait and retest the Adrenal, Estrone and Progesterone to see if these have changed before adding any type of therapy?

I have done several years of research. That is why I put up there to Google DHEA and adrenal glands.

I take this as well, under medical supervision, as well.

If an argument is what you want, I am not participating. Too stressful.

DHEA is a precursor hormone that forms estrogen and testosterone. So unless you want to raise those hormones, it is not helping the adrenals in any way, but it is raising those hormones in the body. I take DHEA under medical supervision as I don't have adrenals and I need to replace those hormones as I don't have ovaries either (I am panhypopituitary - it is either gone or not functional).

Google DHEA and adrenal glands. There is plenty to verify that this does help.

But like everyone, we are all different and not everything helps everyone. We have to see how our body will respond, or IF it responds to different things before we know which one will work for us.

DHEA is an adrenal hormone that is a precursor to testosterone to estrogen. I am not sure how taking it helps the adrenals - but if you take it, you add more testosterone and estrogen to the mix of your hormones - not your choice of how it converts.

I take it under doctor's orders since my adrenals are gone.

You can research DHEA. These help with the adrenals.

Were the adrenal tests saliva? What are the ranges? What is adrenal rebuilder? I don't know of anything that will rebuld an adrenal once atrophied, at that point you just have to replace the function, usually with hydrocortisone as it is most like what the body makes.

Armour has a lot of T3 so if you had normal T3, you may get heart palps etc. TSH is a pituitary test - any other pituitary testing?

Progesterone is not something that the adrenals effect or want - but they do create a precursor hormone that eventually becomes either testosterone or estrogen, but taking neither of those hormones effects the adrenals.
