Did you happen to get copies of the tests?
Did you get an injection of cortosyn and then draws at internals after that? Adrenal antibodies? ACTH? Assuming primary with the adrenal mass... how are your sodium and potassium readings? Do you take florinef? Is your BP high or low?
CT scan of my adrenals showed they were normal - before they were removed... they were enlarged - then I still had pain, got another CT and the report still said they were still normal! LOL... gotta love imaging... not.
while in the hospital for infection due to the end stage liver disease he did hidascan,ct scan, mri, ultrasound and lots of blood work at the varius times.
Hmmm... he is testing you for Cushing's disease. He is doing an 8am cortisol?, and the other is a dexamethasone suppression test. I personally hate that test - but in your case with a known adrenal lesion, it may actually say something (it is really a test of location, not exclusion).
But ONLY two tests - what a ... Oh... I mean gee, why not be thorough and do a bunch of testing so you get a better idea of what is going on...
Are you over or under-weight? How is your sodium and potassium? How were you diagnosed with Addison's - stim test?
well I have my first appointment with a endocrinologist today. he asked when the mass on my left adrenal gland was first diagnosed, I told him in 08, he said well I don't believe you have adrenal cancer because you would be dead by now because it's a very rapid form of cancer. I was like wow that wasn't even on my mind, I told him I'm here because I was diagnosed with addison's disease, he got very serious. I showed him blood labs,ct, mri an ultrasound reports. he said okay were gonna do some lab work. there are going to be two lab tests that need to be done before 8 o'clock am, and the second 1 I take a pill at 11 pm the night before. Thank you both
I know nothing, how ever, of end stage liver disease...
I would imagine that the combination of both would lead to a lot of fatigue. What replacements are you taking?
Thanks LowC!
Hi, I had Addisons, so did President Jack Kennedy :-) but the BEST person on this site to advise you is called "rumpled". She is assisting one person, see the address below
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/1751643
I suggest you hop into that conversation, start your online comment with
"Rumpled, LowCorisol (that is me) saw my post elsewhere and suggested you may be able to help"
For your guidance, Rumpled had/had Cushing's Disease which is the other end of the cortisol spectrum to Addison's Disease (or Adrenal Insufficiency) BUT she know this topic very, very well.
