I will be spending Christmas day with my partners family....
I will go to my sister for the rest of Christmas, My sister has 3 kids aged 4,7 and 9 years old...
I will be babysitting them over the next few days, to be trusted with this responsibility makes sobriety so worthwhile, this trust was not there when I was drinking, I would not be interested in spending time with my family because it would interfere with my drinking.......another reason to be grateful,
Happy, safe and sober Christmas to everyone

Merry Christmas back to you! Thank you for your well wishes. Christmas to me means giving the best you can to ... life and living. I mean, time for my aging parents, help with various holiday events, being fully pesent (and aware) in each moment. At the same time, it's important for me to remember to be grateful. Plugging into the "goodness" of the season is the best way I can think of to have a bit of sanity and sobriety. At least, that's what I'm thinking at this moment! I hope you have a wonderful one.
Yes and for me christmas means remembering what we have to be grateful for and appreciating being around family..if we have good family to be around. Some don't have this. will make xmas nice for my 91 yr.old mom with dementia...i have good stories to tell her of a recent getogether with all the young kids and babies!she loves that!and remembering my dad-4 years have flown fast that he had to leave us.xmas was his fav time of year!he is at peace painfree and oversees us from above!
