I agree, you need to attend Al-Anon meetings as soon as you can get there. I wouldn't hide your literature. Keep a pamphlet around or a big book. You shouldn't have to handle this alone, and you don't have to!! Please continue to use this forum. Depending on the amount of alcohol that your mom drinks, maybe you can get through to her talking about what alcohol does to your liver. Are you living with your mom? Is your father there as well? How many kids? How old are you? and how old is she? It would help if you gave more information. People might be able to help with suggestions if they knew more about your situation. You're not alone..... please get yourself you Al-Anon. You are a good son. God Bless you!!

i live in Ohio, work in the treatment field and there is no Ohio law that will allow one to probate another in2 alcohol/drug treatment.I doubt there is one in Illinois that permits that! Also if one goes to an inpatient program...and they leave against staff advice....the insurance company can refuse to pay for what treatment they had!I suggest u check out some Al-Anon meetings in your area ASAP!
