I managed to do the detox and it wasn't pretty and I don't advice doing it from home. I am back in AA thanks
i went back and read ur previous posts when u were staying clean/sober...ur fear is the alcohol and drugs talking...u found recovery once...or maybe more than once...if u want it again u will work harder to snag it.......i agree w/Rod get back to AA...u must have an ER hospital there.....withdrawal symptoms and treatment of are a medical matter and we can't tell u 4 sure how to proceed w/ a ironclad guarantee!
I dont know your circumstances or anything about you. I understand how you feel because I was in your situation, I can only give you the benefit of my experience with recovery and I know that you can get hooked on many of these drugs, some people look for the easy way out I know I did and I know it did not work. You can do this alone or you can get help that is your choice. Today I am sober because I listened to the advice that was given and did not try the easy way out.
I agree with ibizan that you should be in hospital or as I stated in my first response to you indeed you should be under medical supervision for detox.
Only trying to help :)
Thank you rod, it is a calming advice for someone who is really afraid and other oppotunites aren't available at present. Thanks It takes time to get into a detox and I am here now faced with it, not two or three days from now. Thanks
Well I would get back to AA. Have you someone you can call from AA?
Xanax is for short term treatment of anxiety. From my personal experience learning to deal with fear and anxiety without medication is the best option. Remember that you have done this in the past, it is painful but the benefits of being sober include the strength to deal with your fear. Dont drink for the remainder of today, get rid of all drink in the house. Any craving you may get will not last and will pass. GET TO A MEETING and or call someone and ask for help.
Iam not on Xanax, I wondered if it would help me detox. I have been in aa but am in relapse. Along with the opiates I have been drinking again and today I drank beer. I want off but there is no medical stuff up where I live and have to do it at home
When did you have your last drink?
You should be under medical supervision for detox and if you are on drugs like Xanax you need to be careful as a physical dependence can occur.
Have you tried a recovery program like AA?
I see your name on here a lot. I am fearful as I tried a inpatient detox a month ago and lasted 10 days plus 8 detox. I couldn't hear anything they said I was so panicked out, I couldn't focus and I am having to detox aT HOME and need some advice.
