Hi, I too have an husband that drinks vodka everyday 24 hours. He does not eat there is no talking to him it is as if he doesn't even know he is sick. He acts as if life is great. He has the chills and throws up from the bottom of his stomach It's terrible I have found him on his knees not knowing what he was doing it was very scary. I can't keep up with him I try to listen for the falls to make sure he gets back up. I have watched him for 5 days when he tryed to stop drinking he never slept he would want to climb on the roof to see 30 people in the house, I had to take a leave from work to help him. We had our own bussiness I had to run that and work my full time job. I am so tied of this I would like a normal life.  I have become just as sick as him with me thoughts. I don't drink but I feel as if the problem is all mine. He just doesn't get it.

Hon, my heart goes out to you and your hubby.  He is sick, he can't help himself.
I would have thought the dr. would have given you some advice, prognosis and if he could'nt he should have referred your hubby to another doctor.  Did your husband tell the dr. he had no intentions to stop drinking?  Keep posting and we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.  tjack

hi. your husband is likely going to need intensive medical treatment if he is to last much longer. if he could be separated from the booze in a treatment facility, he may have some chance of getting better, however it may already be too late. the doctor should have given you some idea of his condition (as your husband's diagnosis aside from chronic alcoholism would need to be considered). if he does not stop drinking he will probably suffer from organ failure if his digestive system has been compromised. this is a horrible thing to have to endure or witness but is often the end result of prolonged alcohol abuse. will keep you guys in my prayers-------------gm
