11 weeks of illness

Hello, I am normally very healthy and active, eat well and exercise almost daily.  Eleven weeks ago I developed a bad cough, had dripping from nose, and sneezing.  Initially, I thought it was allergies and I ignored it staying active.  Then the symptoms worsened, coughing up mucus, sore throat, and I have been extremely fatigued, at times with pounding heart and at times irregular heartbeat.  My middle ear is filled with fluid and my hearing impaired.  I visited the doctor at week seven.  She just said I didn't have the flu and suggested over the counter meds for the cough and congestion.  I cannot take the meds she suggested as they cause anxiety.  I have been taking vit C, eating raw garlic, and some other things that have been suggested to me.  I am resting a lot and drinking fluids.  Nothing helps.  I am as ill today as eleven weeks ago.  HELP

Can you go directly to an EENT specialist for a check up? It might be something more than a flu. 11 weeks are too long for someone not to recover from flu. An EENT would be your best option at this stage.
