Blunted Villi

Is there another condition, food allergy, or intolerance which can cause the villi to be blunted besides celiac or a gluten intolerance?

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Blunting of intestinal villi are seen in rotavirus infections and diarrheas, Cryptosporidiosis, certain drugs like fenbendazole and certain bacterial infections all cause blunting of villi.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I believe parasites, viruses, and bacterial overgrowth can all cause villi destruction.
My mom recently recovered from a serious bout of Clostridium Difficile . This bacteria can destroy the villi.
