Bra allergy

I seem to have the same problem with my 3 new bras bought in South Carolina in February and made by HANES as the Victoria Secret bras.  The label says they are made in Thailand.  I also have tried cortisone creams which do not help.  Not wearing the bras seems to help - so I guess I will be buying new ones!  I only see complaints for Victoria Secret Bras.  Anyone else having problems?

Well it seems that it is NOT my bras that are giving me a rash... back on the cortizone and we will see what will happen!  Glad I did NOT get rid of my nice and comfy bras!

I just had a chemical patch allergy test done. I am allergic to rubber accelerators. They are chemicals used in rubber to keep it soft and bendable.

This means I cannont wear a bra or panties without getting itchy and rashes. You can go to www.cottonique.com and find bras if you're not supersensitive and ones with drawstrings if you are hypersensitive.

Ladies, you are not allergic to the bra, but the chemicals they add to the rubber in the elastic! Try finding a bra that encases the elastic in cotton.

Hi, welcome to the forum, Bra allergies are directly related to the constructions of the bra. If your body is not resistant to the metal or the elastic that they use, you will find some rashes and skin irritation around the breasts and give rise to skin rashes.

Using unwashed bra for a long time will also lead to skin irritation. Bras should be free of dirt, sweat and grime. Also use mild detergent to wash the bra as it also may be the detergent allergy. Do not wash it with the rest of your clothing.

You can change the bra and use soft material without elastic or cotton bra. Also you can remove it while sleeping .You need to check that you sweat less as it may also cause allergy and skin rash in bra area. Avoid using very tight bra which may also be the reason.

You can discontinue using for 3-4 days and consult dermatologist for further evaluation and proper guidance. Take care and regards.

Hi I also have had an issue with Hanes petal Bra. I ended up at the doctors with an infection after only wearing it for 8-9 hours. Yet I can wear Hanes other similar bras with no problem. I reported this to the CPSC and Attorney generals office and it has been an on going back and forth since last July. Hanes will not offer any explaination and it is so frustrating.  I went and bought this same bra on Friday at the same place, WalMart it did not smell like the first one does so I purchased it and I felt sure this issue would be resolved by now and Hanes would be helping it's customers. I wore it all day Saturday and behold a rash, itch, skin peeling. It is so uncomfortable.. I will say so far it has not blistered but I have prescription cream left from the last time I quickly used. What could be causing this?
