Can an allergic reaction take a month to show? Itchy rash & cat is only change.

Can an allergic reaction take a month to show up? My friend & her cat moved in with us a month ago and I just developed this horrible itchy rash. It's mostly on elbow, hips and knees...but there are scattered spots throughout my body. I haven't changed diet, soaps and not taking any medication. Just wondering if it could take a month for cat to affect me?

Absolutely, especially if you are not vacuuming daily including all furniture.  If you do not make your bed with a bedspread then that too should be addressed.  Sometimes cat hair and especially dander is more irritating as it builds up in the home
