Cant Get Rid of PND!

Hello All, just trying to see if anyone out there suffers from Post Nasal Drip as badly as I do and if there are any relievers out there I'm not aware of. Sudafed, Mucinex, Nose Spray, Netti Pot, Claritan all somewhat help but not completely - they just provide semi temporary relief. I had a septoplasty a few years ago and unfortunatley despite what the ENT says I think it caused the PND to be worse. I feel like the mucus just sits in the back of my nose and throat sometimes its so bad I feel it is tough to breathe. I wish it would just come out my nose but instead it drips down into my throat! It is very annoying and bothersome, I got the surgery so I could get off all these sinus meds but it seemed to fix one problem and cause antoher!

thank you for your reply. This is why it is so frustrating, I have had sinus surgery to correct a deviated septum and clear out nasal cavities. After the surgery the PND seemed to get worse, actually it was not even the reason I had the surgery. this problem seemed to be mpre apparent after the surgery. I went back to my ENT and in the scope he did not see anything wrong. I have tried so many thigns that barely take the edge off, I am running out of options.

Hi,
Post nasal drip is usually treated with medications initially if this fails then surgery can be considered to correct structural abnormalities like septal deviation, septal perforation, septal spur or deformed or enlarged nasal turbinate’s etc. If there is no specific cause found then, drugs to thin secretions, increasing fluid intake and nasal irrigations can help cope with the situation. You need to see a ENT specialist for examination and CT scan for determining any structural abnormalities if present and advise on further action to be taken. Best.
