Confused

I am currently taking Spiro and a birth control for hairloss and about a month after I started, I got a fine pin size rash on the side of my lip and down towards the chin. It's usually dry but sometimes it looks like it has some fluid. You wouldn't notice the rash unless I pointed it out to you. I have also had a nagging sore throat that comes and goes for about the same am

Thank you for your response. I do have a lot of itchiness around the nipple area too and the skin there does look a bit strange so I'll talk to the dermatologist.

Could I have picked up the thrush from my somewhat new boyfriend. If so, wouldn't I also have a vaginal yeast infection from receiving oral sex.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, it could be due to an allergic reaction. If the rash is occurring repeatedly and is causing itching, a possibility is eczema. This itches so much that all the scratching makes it look like 'shoe leather' (or 'elephant hide'). This not a sexually transmitted disease or a fungal infection. So, antifungal creams will not help. You can control the symptoms with prescription strength mild cortisone creams. Consult a dermatologist.

The white coating of the throat is referred to as Thrush, which is an over growth of a fungus that is normally found in the mouth, called Candida albicans.  This generally looks like cheese curds, which when wiped off, leave a raw, bleeding surface.  Thrush could certainly cause all of the symptoms that you have described.  This is treated with Nystatin Oral Suspension or Mycelex. Try this; if it worsens consult your primary care physician. Regards.

Got cut off...

The sore throat and a few random pimples that come and go in a few hours have been around since may/June which is almost the same time I started the meds. I thought it was an allergic reaction to them until this past week when i got  swollen glands in the neck a lot of itching all over my body that kept me awake one night  and something that felt like a cold sore on my lip (tiny, very painful paper cut bump). I had an appointment with the doctor but he didn't think it was a cold sore and refused to send me for tests or prescribe meds and didnt swab my throat. He said my symptoms indicate that I have allergies and gave me something for the allergies. Today I have a pimple under my tongue and white stuff on my tonsils. Is this really an allergy?
