Could I be alllergic to gel nails?

I had a set of gel nails put on about 2 weeks ago and ever since then I have been itching like crazy on my hands, arms, neck, face. Is it possible to be allergic to the ingredients that they use to do the nails. I do not have any rash or red swelling welts anywhere, just this uncontrolable non stop itching that is driving me crazy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes you can be Allergic to Gel. I am.
I experienced the exact same syntoms. I one day stuck my hands in Clorox n it eased the pain a lot. But decided after finding out how miserable I was after a month to soak them off in pure Accetone n boy, what a relieve it was. Some nail techs don't care even after you tell them you're allergic to Gel, they apply it anyway. So tell them to only use Acrylic not Gel.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

It can be due to contact dermatitis to the gel nails. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin.Take Benadryl at night as it causes drowsiness. Also apply some calamine lotion and mild steroid cream on the itchy areas.Pls don’t use any ahrsh sopas or detergents in the meanwhile and use mild soaps like Dove.

If the symptoms persist then pls get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
