Hi
Thanks for keeping me posted. I am sorry to learn that you are not insured. It will be better if you could see a doctor. There must be a way out. Check out all possibilities.
Meanwhile I am giving you a link to 2 pages on treatment of celiac disease along with warnings and precautions.

Please go through them. Lactobacillus preparations (good helpful bacteria in human intestine) and multivitamins will help. He should take a diet rich in fruits and vegetables.
However I am again emphasizing that it’s not necessary he has celiac disease. It is difficult for me to give a correct diagnosis without examining him. Again I would recommend that he consults a doctor who can examine him. Please check out all the possibilities of how you can approach a doctor.
Meanwhile if you need more help, please feel free to contact. I’ll be happy to answer your queries. Please keep me posted.
Thank you so much for your help. I looked up some info about Coeliac disease and realized that my boyfriend had also been diagnosed with failure to thrive as an infant which is rare in cases where there is no child abuse. This leads me to believe that a gluten sensitivity due to coeliac disease is possible. I wish I could get him to go to a doctor but we are not medically insured and cannot aford it at the moment. Would probiotics help with digestion in addition to gluten free foods?
Hi
Read through your post. I am sorry to learn about your boy friend. I am providing you information about gluten allergy and gluten free diet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gluten_sensitivity gives all the details of gluten sensitivity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gluten-free_diet gives all possible available gluten free diets.
However a word of caution; Please see a physician for his problems. He could also be suffering from Celiac disease, ulcerative colitis or any other form of irritable bowel disease. The symptoms of all these match with that your boyfriend. Please refer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coeliac_disease http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulcerative_colitis
It’s difficult to diagnose without examining and a detailed history. Hence it’s important to see a physician.
