Headache in sinus area, jaw pain, throat ache, ear aches.

Thanks Star Queen, you did help me worry less.  I'm going to the doc tomorrow, so I have one last question.  Can sinuses make your jaws and your mouth, and neck hurt?  Can they make your eyes hurt?  I know they can make your ears throb, mine have been.  I took some sudophedrine and it stopped quite a bit, but not completely.  It still comes back on and off.  Do you think I need something stronger?
Does anyone know if sinuses can make those things hurt, it seems kinda wiggy.

  Thanks, you're all so kind.

I thought I was going crazy. I started with a root canal in Nov. then had the tooth pulled in March and I am still fighting jaw pain. I am going to a endodotist next month. I have been on lortab and multiple antibiotics. I am miserable but the dentist has no idea what could be causing it.

in february 2006 I started having snorting sounds like something had swollen behind my palate up my thorat

Then feeling sick.... all doctors said it was just anxiety until one of them said hey you are having green postnasal drip.... it is sinusitis. It took me 3 one week antibiotics to get rid of it
then two months later, i started having a pain in the center of the skull above my throat... behind my palate and having bad taste and smell coming from there.... also sore throat and ear pain... i also had a mild headache on the top of my head. I went to another doctor and she said it was sinusitis.. she gave me a 21 day antibiotic round (Avelox)

On the 18 day, i went to ENT doctor and i said i still had this pain on center of skull at the jaw evel inside. Also the apin like a tight belt from ears to top of head. He said it was TMJ suggested taking strong ibuprofen doses, put hot compresses on jaws and ears, and use a bite sports guard... I did it for three days

Then the worst headache ever in my life hit me.... i felt my head was going to explode. I had ended my anitbiotics. I thought it was sinuses so bought and took Advil sinus one in the morning and one in the evening. The relief was almost instantaneous although not absolute. I was happy though for I thought i got rid of the porblem... after a week of Advil i went to a doctor at my health cae center in GWU looking for guidance. She said I was healing an to try Afrin for three days

I did... it did not take it all off... but it helped.... three days after being done with the Afrin THOUGH, I GOT THE WORST EVER HEADACHE IN MY LIFE. WORST THAN THE ONE I MENTIONED ABOVE. MY FOREHEAD WAS NUMB, MY EYEBROWS, MY EYELIDS, MY FOREHEAD, THE TOP OF MY HEAD AND ALL AROUND IT HURT. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PASS OUT. I FELT TIRED, LETHARGIC. I ALSO FELT LIKE SOMEONE HAD PUNCHED MY NOSE AND A DEEP PAIN BEHIND MY NOSE INSIDE MY SKULL...

I went to emergency they did a CT scan that did not show anything. The doctor said it was likely to be an acute sinusitis though and prescribed 2 weeks of antibiotics and to visit ENT. The next day i went to ENT doctor and he dismissed the emergency guys and sasid i had a migraine and sent me to neurologist. and gave me migraine medication...

I took the migraine (Imitrex?) medication for three days and i was stil having excritiating pain and lethargy. I decided to go ahead with antibiotics. Two days later i was not lethargic and the headache started to recede....

I decided to leave the GWU doctors and went looking for ENT at Georgetown University Hospital. I got to see these new doctr on my last day of antibotics... I said my headache had shrunk but felt i was not still well. She said we would see how i do without antibiotics and told to come back intwo weeks. She noticed though that my tonsils were red and took a culture....

aweek later the headache and earace was coming back along with sore thorat., drooping eyelids. Met my new ENT and she said thay had found strep infection... gave me another round of two week antibiotics.....

i finished the second round of antibiotics which helped in reducing all the symptoms but did not get rid of it. Two weeks later again i feel headahces, earahces, sore thorat, jaw joint pain, foul smell and taste from back up my throat.... i have had a thorat CT and a brain MRI and i am waiting for the results.... hoefulyy they will show what i think it is nost likely I have... a sphenoiditis or sphenoid sinusitis.....

Takae a look at this interesting article about the Sphenoid sinus:

just wanted to share this if it helps others and i am open to comments

For the past 4 months I have been experiencing on and off sinus infections. I have taken Augmentin, Biaxin and Levaqin along with Nasonex daily. Finally about a month ago I went to see an ENT and had a CT Scan of my sinuses. He found that my sphenoid sinus was infected, so he put me back on Levaqin for a month along with a 7 day dose of a steriod. I am on my last week of levaqin and I still feel lightheaded, pressure on my cheeks, aching pain on my head, headaches and now neck discomfort. I always feel tired too. Shouldn't I feel better already? I am really concerned at this point. I feel like these antibotics are not helping. I go back to the ENT in 2 wks. I hope to get some answers.

Hey thanks.  My doc gave me the anti-biotics, so my throat doesn't feel swollen anymore.  My neck, however, has been hurting in short, little spurts--not constanly, and I just kind of have this discomfort in my shoulders and neck region.  My headache is now coming and going--no longer for long, drawn out periods--like on Monday, I had a headache for six hours.

Is it normal to have neck pain and stiffness with sinuses?
