Hello doctor, Hiv and relation to Allergies? plz help

Hello,
Does the onset of never before allergies(first time allergies that i know of and i am 19) indicate something, my allergies were specific eyes itch, and were red, and after a week or two, They were sore and it was only painful to look out the corners of the eye.

Optimologist told me it was just allergies.

however, this occured between some 8-11 weeks after what i thought was an exposure,

Since than i has HIV tests done on 25 days,  6 weeks, and 10 week just 2 days short(68 days)     ALL WERE NEGATIVE...
Please Advice

Yes I get complete eye check up,  for everthing Such as glaucoma etc... Every thing was fine... my symtoms of mild itch, redness and ache all went away couple weeks back with prescription of eye drops which helped... I think it was allergic conjunctivitis But wonder if that had anything to do with HIV

Hello,
It is difficult to confirm whether eye allergies are causing these symptoms or some specific eye diseases. To confirm these you should get allergy testing done for various air borne allergens. Diagnosis of allergy can be done by skin ***** tests and patch tests. In this a little amount of allergen is injected into the skin of the forearm by a doctor. The skin is closely watched for signs of a reaction, which include swelling and redness. Confirmatory diagnosis is by blood tests (RAST).

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hello,
It looks like hay fever or allergic rhinitis which can cause eye symptoms as well. I agree with your ophthalmologist that it can be due to air borne allergies. It can happen in an individual who has never had allergies before. I suggest you to take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Zyrtec after consulting your doctor and use some boric acid or antihistaminic eye drops.

For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. Treatment can be started only when the diagnosis is confirmed. I sincerely hope that helps.
