Hives and allergies

After taking dicyclomine for about a month, I developed hives.  They went away within a couple of days after stopping the medication but now keep recurring, even six weeks later.  Claritin keeps them under control.  Is it typical for a drug allergy to keep recurring?  Do I just keep taking Claritin?

It seems like the medication should have completely worked its way out of your system by now.  It is a very sedating medication, too.  I only take it if I absolutely have to, instead of everyday, like I used to.  I would talk to your doctor about this just to be sure.  You could save yourself a trip and some money if you can call to talk to your clinic's triage nurse or a community nurse advice line just to ask a question of how long this kind of medication takes to work its way through the system because of your obvious allergy to this medication.

I took it for about a month.  Since I've been off it for over a month, I wondered if I should still be having a reaction.

How long did you use Dicyclomine?  I wonder if it might still be cycling out of your body?
