Horrible Sinus Pressure, Pain, Dizziness, Vision Problems

Hi Everyone. This is my first post. I started having problems about 5 years ago. It was occasional problems such as mild sinus pain/pressure and headache with mild eye strain. Each year it has gotten worse. Over the course of the past 5 years I have seen multiple doctors across different specialites: Ears, Nose & Throat, Neurologist, Allergist, and my Intern. I have had MRI's and CT scans. This year has been the worst so far. I have already gotten 2 sinus infections. In February of this year I got a CT scan and the ENT doctor said I have a severe deviated septum with chronic sinusitis. I was treated for a sinus infection and that was it. I still felt bad so I went to a neurologist. He wrote it off as a vestibular problem. I did vestibular therapy for 2 months with almost no relief. In May when allergy season started, everything got worse. I have had nonstop sinus pressure/pain, headache, dizziness, major eye strain, my face is sore, my teeth are sore. At the beginning of July I went to an allergist. He said I was allergic to 3 types of trees, 4 grasses, dust, molds and very mild allergy to cats. He put me on Rhinocort. NO results. Then I went back to him after already dumping over $200 in co-pays and medication and he said I have a sinus infection. I just finished the antibiotics and I still feel the same as I did when I first went to him in July. He had me on amoxicillin plus Astelin. I have tried Nasacort, Zyrtec, Claritin, Alavert, etc.... no relief. I am a computer programmer and I can't function like this anymore. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

I probably should have mentioned that Candida is a fungal (yeast) infection that over time makes food and environmental allergies worse.  It starts in the gut and it is normal for all of us to have some level of Candida.  But when we takes lots of antibiotics and kill off the good bacteria it takes over and becomes systemic (throughout our entire body).  Here are some of the symptoms I had and maybe you do too; sinus infections, plugged ear,  feeling like I was in a fog, dizziness, sugar cravings, spots in eyes and double vision, adrenal problems, dry patches on skin, acne, sensitivity to smells (especially perfumes and chemicals).  If you are like me, you feel unhealthy and like the doctors just can't help you.  Please check out Candida. I know how miserable you must feel because I've been there too.  Best of luck!

PLEASE READ THIS!  IT COULD HELP YOU!  I've had so many of the same problems, dizziness, foggy head, stomach issues etc, etc.  For years doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong.  I would be sent home feeling like my symptoms were all in my head!  I hit rock bottom about 3 years ago when my face kept swelling and I would get an infection that would require an antibiotic.  12 doctors later, I went to see an allergist.  I have a severe allergic reaction to mold but the big problem is something most regular doctors don't check for. CANDIDA!  It's a HUGE problem and if you had a history of lots of antibiotics like I did, there is a great chance you have candida.  Please go online and check it out.  Symptoms are MANY!  It requires a blood test but there is an easy spit test you can do at home.  Google Candida or Candidiasis.  If you have Candida you can feel better without meds. Stop taking antibiotics!!!  It's a diet change that is hard but you can do it.  I have talked to so many people who have Candida and suffered for years because doctors don't check.  My regular dr did $1000 in blood work and told me I was fine!  Please check it out and I hope you all find relief!

I have the same issues, and have for about 5 years now. It started with a tooth infection, that led to TMJ treatment and surgeries. I've seen the Chiropractor, which helped... but ultimately it always ends up the same.

To help? I take a COLD pack and place it directly across my sinuses with no cushion or towel between. That usually knocks it out in 5 - 10 minutes. Then it's Aleve. I take Mucinex daily, but I can tell when I miss a dose.

This is completely debilitating... I've had weeks when leaving my dark room seemed like too much to ask. I have sinus infections every other month, and the doctors are clueless.

I took a survey on Lime Disease... it said if you meet 20 criteria you should be tested... I met 40.

Best of luck to everyone, it is really nice to know I'm not alone. When everyone looks at you like you're crazy it's hard not to feel that way.

I had something similar at first. Ie no mucus, no discharge but nonetheless something felt wrong inside with pressure on my eye and my ear. In my case it meant that the flow was clogged inside. A simple thing worked for me to unclog and release the pressure: hot steam inhalations: boil some water, pour it into a pot, put a towel over your head and inhale through your nose. May help to put a few drops of eucalyptus oil or vicks vapor run in the hot water. You may need to try a couple of times.  So anyways, since then, and it was over 6 month ago, the flow has been non stop for me. Now, I'm on my 2nd round of antibitics (amoxicilin 875mg 2x a day for 20 days) and it it initially seemed to improve things significantly. But I'm still far from perfect. good luck
