Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
It could be right but you should first eliminate other causes.
Smoking, alcohol use, gastritis, acidity, tumors of stomach and food pipe, bleeding gastric ulcer, cancer of stomach, erosion of lining of food pipe, bleeding veins at esophageal (food pipe) sphincters etc all cause vomiting of blood. This can be fresh red if coming from a place above the stomach. It can be brown or coffee colored if coming from the stomach. Tumors of the oral cavity, pyorrhea or pus in gums and Vitamin C deficiency can cause bleeding from mouth, which if ingested can result in vomiting.
The other possibility is that you are coughing up blood. This can be due to bronchitis or pneumonia, lung cancers (especially in smokers), tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary embolism, or fungal and other infections.
Discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Hello Doctor,
I constantly wake up in the morning and spit out (not up) a decent amount of blood. My doctor told me it was my allergies and effects of dry air?? Does this sound right??
Can dust mites, or stuff in a dusty house be linked to any of these symptoms such as attributed to stomach issues? my eyes checked out fine.
Also - I have very good vision. Not nearsighted at all. Could these symptoms be allergy induced? (moldy, dusty house exposure?) I could see that they might be ocular miagraines. What causes blood spasms?
anything you recommend for post nasal drip? Is this something an anti biotic could zap? One additional thing to mention regarding the slimy throat feeling is at a check up about 2 years ago the doctor had thought i had possible strep throat. She swabbed it and sent to the lab. Later came back with the conclusion of it being a very subtle case of strep. She gave me a mild antibiotic and it seemed to go away for a few weeks later to return. I am not questioning your opinion just adding that.
I had looked up the detachment but i've had any serious hits to the head. I can say that the migraines make a bit more sense. Would they be connected to allergies? I seem to have small spasms throughout my body every once in a while. I do notice them in my eye as well once in awhile. What causes this? What can you do about them? I do know that i am wheat/gluten/lactose sensitive. That stinks because I dont have the money to see all these specialists. I'd be willing to do the changes though.
Sorry plz read that as 'ophthalmic'
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Postnasal drip, change of voice etc can be due to gastric reflux. You do have stomach issues and probably gluten and lactose intolerance. These would worsen the reflux but the reflux would be persisting without you being really aware of it. You should consult a gastroenterologist for proper investigations and treatment. A combination of medication, diet and lifestyle changes would be required for relief from symptoms.
However floaters in the eye could be a sign of retinal detachment (especially if you have high myopia or short sightedness), ophthalmic migraine, a blow or fall on the head or due to some inflammation. Please consult an eye specialist for this. Ophthlmic migraine is a possibility.
Please discuss this with your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
