Itching Burning Skin

Summer evenings I am unable to enjoy walks for lengthy periods of time. Most recently, and for the first time in the bitter winter cold I experienced the same thing. I am suffering from burning, itchy and inflammed skin. It usually starts in my legs ( either my ankles, feet, mostly behind my thighs) and the burning/itchy sensation travels  and intensifies towards my rear end. At this point, I am in near tears, and can barely breath and tempted to scratch. I have not let it get any worse. I spoke to my doctor about it and he told me to let it get to the boiling point and admit myself into the hospital for tests. Of course, I would have to bring someone with me. There is a problem, I am scared. It just seems so extreme. Also, with the wait times in the hospital I am afraid the doctors will not be able to see me. I am also uncertain of what will happen to me if I let it get to the boiling point. I suffer so much from it. I want my life back. Please help.

Hello Dr,
I realized I never responded. I apologize. I wanted to let you know my symptoms got worse. My eyes were affected and I was not sleeping. I had an asthma attack and did not know I was asthmatic. I have a severe dust and cat allergy.  I have a mild mold allergy. Also, learned that I am asthmatic. While time has past, I have no choice but to deal with my health because it affected every aspect of my life. Would carpet affect my allergies......
Thank you for your help and incredible knowledge.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Your allergy could be due to pollen, dust, mold, pet dander, or any other allergen present in the air. You must get an allergy test done, either a skin ***** or RAST, to know what you are allergic to. Seasonal allergies are generally due to pollen or dust.

Many a times an allergy starts in reaction to heat or cold. What you have is probably cold allergy as your allergy starts when the body starts cooling after exercise. I am providing you with a link that tells you all about such allergies. Please read through this and ask me any questions you may have. http://www.allergycapital.com.au/Pages/gpexerc.html

It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please discuss this with your doctor and get yourself investigated accordingly. Once the symptoms start visit your doctor, so that by the time they flare up you are there. You can even take an appointment and go for a walk before that so that the allergic reaction flares up at the time of your appointment. There is nothing to be scared of. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
