Middle ear infection caused by allergy to coffe, cream ?

3 years ago I suddenly developed persistent middle ear fluid retention & infections. Eventually I found out that chewing gum (or anything) gives me relief, so now I always have gum with me. I have always been a coffe drinker with cream. I recently noticed that coffee seems to aggarvate the condition. Is it possible that this is actually caused by an allergy to coffee, or cream, or both? I have switched to tea fo the past 2 weeks and I feel much better. Does anyone know of an allergy to coffee or cream causing this problem ?

I've experienced similar ear problems and agree that coffee seems to aggrivate them.  Thanks for the tip on gum.

Hi,

You need to consult an ENT specialist for your symptoms and et a thorough ear examination done.

Do you have a throat infection or any nasal complaints?

It is unlikely that the middle ear infections are being caused due to coffee, and these could be unrelated.

If your middle ear has infection - a course of antibiotics would be required before the symptoms become chronic and persistent.

Let us know if you have any other doubts and post us about what your doctor advises.

Regards.
