Prednisone

I have vasculitis and was in the hospital on 150 mg IV Solumedrol for 1 week and have been on 80mg a day since Oct. 6th. I have the abd bloating, moon face and hump neck and shoulders. I know it is the side effects but was wondering if anyone has any ideas for relief of it. My back hurts as well I do use a heating pad on it and sometimes it helps but the neck, shoulders, and stomach are so uncomfortable. Does anyone do anything that helps with this?

On a blog I found for Vasculitis it talked about a gentleman who found relief from back pain using 8000 UI's of Vitamin D.Talk to your Dr first though. I know I am at my next visit. Hope it helps. :)

Hello and hope you are doing well.

As you are aware your symptoms are due to side effects from your medication. You could try calcium supplements for your back and neck pain. Also, some mild pain killers like Tylenol (acetaminophen) may help. Ensure to take them after food.
